EULA / License Terms
1. Scope
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) governs the use of the software “Redaxa” (“App”).The App is provided by:

(hereinafter referred to as the “Provider”).
If you use the App on behalf of a company, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
In addition, the terms of use published there apply to the use of the website redaxa.app.
2. Description of Services
Redaxa is a locally executed desktop application for:- Identification, highlighting, and redaction of sensitive data in texts, PDFs, emails, and Office documents
- AI-assisted detection of personal or confidential content exclusively on the user’s device
- Creation and application of internal rules (e.g. prompts, dictionaries, exclusions)
- Export of sanitized content
There is no transmission of content to the Provider’s servers.
The App is provided “as is”. There is no entitlement to specific features, availability, or error-free operation.
3. License Purchase & Payment Processing via Paddle
Licenses are purchased via:Paddle.com Market Ltd
(“Paddle”), which acts as the authorized reseller (“Merchant of Record”).
Paddle is responsible for:
- Payment processing
- Invoicing
- Tax calculation (e.g. VAT)
- Refunds in accordance with Paddle policies
The Provider does not receive any payment data, only license information.
4. Licensing & Scope of Use
4.1 Trial version
The software can be tested free of charge for a period of 14 days.After the trial period expires, a valid license is required for continued use.
4.2 Version definition
Major version refers to a version line with the same first version number (e.g. 1.x).4.3 Subscription
During an active subscription, the user receives access to the major version of the software that is current at the time the subscription is concluded, including all minor versions, updates and bug fixes published within this major version.The subscription is limited to this major version. Management and cancellation are handled via the payment provider Paddle.
4.4 Lifetime license
A lifetime license grants a perpetual right to use the major version of the software that is current at the time of license purchase, including all minor versions, updates and bug fixes published within this major version.There is no entitlement to upgrades or new major versions.
4.5 License type
The provider grants the user a- non-exclusive
- non-transferable
4.6 License verification & online connection
An internet connection is required for activation of the software and for periodic verification of the license status.No content or documents processed by the user are transmitted.
All content is processed exclusively locally on the user’s device.
4.7 Updates
The provider may, at its own discretion, provide updates or bug fixes, but is not obligated to do so.5. User Obligations
The user undertakes to:- use the app only in accordance with the contract
- not process any unlawful content
- not use the app for the re-identification of anonymized data
- not circumvent any security mechanisms
- not pass on, rent out, or sell the app
- not perform reverse engineering, decompiling, or modification (to the extent legally permissible)
- not carry out automated attacks or scans on the website
6. Use in sensitive areas
Redaxa may be used, among others, in the following areas:law, public administration, healthcare, research, companies.
The following expressly applies:
- The AI serves exclusively as assistance
- The final responsibility for review, correctness, and completeness lies with the user
- The provider assumes no guarantee for complete or legally sufficient redactions under data protection law
The app does not replace legal, organizational, or data protection advice.
7. Availability of the website
The website may be changed, restricted, or discontinued at any time.There is no entitlement to continuous availability.
8. Data protection
App:All content remains entirely on the user’s device. No cloud processing takes place.

9. Intellectual Property (Copyright)
The software and all associated components, including in particular code, design, user interface, texts, logos, graphics and documentation, are protected by copyright and are the property of the provider or its licensors.The user is granted only those rights of use expressly specified in this EULA. Any further use is not permitted unless expressly authorized by this EULA or by law.
In particular, the user is prohibited from reproducing, modifying, distributing, making publicly available, transferring, renting or selling the software or parts thereof.
The user is also prohibited from decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering or otherwise attempting to derive the source code or underlying structures of the software, unless this is mandatorily permitted by law.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
10. Liability
10.1 Liability of the Provider
The provider shall be liable without limitation:- in cases of intent and gross negligence
- in cases of injury to life, body, or health
With respect to entrepreneurs, any further liability for slight negligence is excluded.
Liability under the Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
10.2 Liability for redaction results
The app assists the user in detecting and redacting sensitive content. However, the provider assumes no guarantee for completeness or accuracy of this automatic detection.The app does not replace human review and does not constitute legal, data protection or organisational advice.
The user is fully responsible for the review, assessment and approval of the outputs.
11. Warranty
The app is provided “as is”.There is no guarantee that:
- the app is error-free
- certain recognition results will be achieved
- the app will function in every environment
12. Suspension & Termination
The provider may block or terminate the licence at any time if the user:- violates these Terms of Use,
- makes unauthorised use,
- commits misuse.
The user may cancel the subscription at any time via Paddle.
13. Withdrawal & Refunds
Refunds are governed by Paddle’s policies and the refund policy published on the website.Requests must be addressed directly to Paddle.
14. Amendments to the EULA
The Provider reserves the right to amend this EULA.Users will be informed of material changes.
15. Governing law & place of jurisdiction
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).For consumers within the EU, this choice of law applies only insofar as mandatory consumer protection provisions are not restricted.
If the user is a merchant or has its registered office outside the EU, the exclusive place of jurisdiction shall be the Provider’s registered office.
